Shaun Barratt- his road to entrepreneurship

Shaun Barratt is one of the better known entrepreneurs in Australia and is more known for his running a successful HR company called ‘Salt’. After dropping out of school after his mum passed away, he was forced to try his hand as chef to support his daily needs. Shaun then went on to acquire his accounting course while still in school.

Shaun Barratt began in his career when he joined Goodman Fielder Wattie’ after he finished his accounting course. He had a good eye for business and after his successful stint with Pacific Foods looking after their various business interests in Australia, New Zealand and Germany, Shaun founded his own business venture ‘Salt’.

With the necessary business skills, Shaun moved into the HR recruiting business and charmed his way to getting the maximum clients to his list, his sole motto was to provide his clients with superior service and be consistent.
He became very successful and went on to acquire more business ventures like; Maggie Potter’ a fashion store in Auckland, Wellington and Melbourne in Australia. Shaun Barratt now wants to acquire a doctorate, but before that he want to take ‘Salt’ to places and make it a truly global HR recruitment service company.

Shaun Francis Barratt, going global with Salt

Shaun Francis Barratt fully understands that life is all about experiences. He regularly talks about how a successful life is clear product of the kind of experienced achieved. Shaun’s belief that “success is not the end word of every effort. But the key is to keep it consistent make better deal next time. Shaun is full of enthusiasm. The sudden demise of his mom resulted in his dropping out of school and then working as chef to support himself.

Shaun has an undying zeal for everything he gets into. While still working as small time chef, Shaun enrolled himself in Massey University on full-time basis to learn Accounting. He always said that to pursue your dream for something you should have a passion to better it, but then you have to work hard to achieve it.

Shaun after having finished his accounting studies was hired by Goodman Fielder Wattie’ the food giant in Australia. Simultaneously he also looked at their New Zealand operations too. After a successful professional stint and going places, Shaun resigned his position to start his own venture a human resource company called ‘Salt’. His mission to provide quality service to his clients finally proved success; Salt today has grown tremendously and is looking to open 5-6 Branches across the world. The company also wants to get those few, but the best clients. Today Shaun Barratt and ‘Salt’ are doing extremely well and planning to go global.

Shaun Francis Barratt is an appealing, brave one-of-a-kind winner story. We have seen over the years, how people from modest background go on to become successful business leaders. Shaun Francis Barratt, donning the role of successful entrepreneur

Shaun Francis Barratt and 'Salt' today want the company to come up to international standards. He wants ‘Salt’ to be known as a company that provides quality service to its clients.

For Shaun Barrat who had dropped out of school after his mother passed away things were not easy. He supported himself working as a local Chef and then took to study accounting. After a successful stint working in many industries Shaun started his own company called ‘Salt’ a human resources and consulting company. The focus was on placing the right people at the right place.

Shaun Barratt possessed great management skills. Prior to his starting his company he worked as accountant in Pacific Foods and later to Parex Industries a manufacturer of infrastructure piping.
Shaun also served as the head of trading division of the company in Germany and was later promoted as the Director of Commercial and Finance Functions.

Today Barratt's other business interest is a fashion store- Maggie Potter in Auckland Wellington and Melbourne in Australia. Shaun Barratt wants to one day acquire a Doctorate, but for the time being his priority is to take Salt to the level of such companies that promotes quality service.
